At a glance

Modular Banking Services is a new proposition from ABN AMRO to offer banking services 'as-a-service' to other companies. This enables e.g. platforms and fintechs to offer financial services to their clients quickly and at low cost. Our current focus is on lending-as-a-service and forex-as-a-service. These will be followed by accounts-as-a-service and KYC-as-a-service. Modular banking services is built on our best internal platforms (lending on New10, FX on franx, and acounts on the Clearing BaaS platform). We are currently working towards the launch of Lending-as-a-service with a first client.

We need a strong business developer / sales lead to create (and convert!) a funnel of prospective platforms, financial institutions and fintechs as the 2nd to N-th clients using modular banking.

Your job

You will be part of the Modular Banking Services team, with the primary responsibility for sales. The initial product focus is on Lending-as-a-Service and FX-as-a-Service. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Achieve and exceed sales target volumes and revenues; Acquire new business customers across North-West Europe across multiple sales channels 
  • Identify target clients, followed by creating and delivering sales pitches
  • Deeply understand customer needs and interests for modular banking services, and feed these back to our head of product
  • Create short-cycle business plans leaving room for quick iterative adjustments 
  • Growth: Steer marketing initiatives (in partnership with colleagues from Franx, New10, Group Innovation and others). 
  • Leading and shaping the deals with new Modular Banking Services customers

Note: Modular banking services is closer to software-sales than traditional relationship banking. We are looking for someone that is motivated to drive sales for these products even though the products are still rapidly evolving.

Your profile

•    You are a high-performing sales professional with a proven track record of selling new products to enterprise customers – ideally in the field of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
•    You are success-oriented and hold yourself accountable for delivering key outcomes, including KPIs and revenue targets
•    You work collaboratively with people at all levels and across functions and cultures
•    Ideally, you have a track record in sales within the Financial Institution space or familiarity with the banking and/or fintech industry
•    You have excellent relationship-building and communication skills. Customers love to do business with you and colleagues love to work with you.
•    You enjoy building long-lasting relationships on various levels and with various departments within our client target group 
•    You are willing and able to take on the challenges that come with developing a new market with the latest embedded financial services products.  
•    You are fluent and able to negotiate in English. Dutch, German and French are a plus.
•    Ideally, you have experience leading a sales team to higher levels of maturity and professionalism.
•    Ideally, you have a technical understanding of API-based solutions and architecture
•    You have structured problem-solving skills, fast learning ability and willingness to challenge the status quo
