You are in a good mood and get into the office. With a cup freshly brewed coffee, you check your email. You are up for a new day! Two signed loan agreements are in your inbox; a nice way to start the day. You first decide to prepare the Closing deal for tomorrow. After an hour, your Lean workshop starts. As a changemaker, you love to improve an existing process. It was a fruitful session. The next gathering will be focussing on finalising the details before the actual implementation can start.

The phone rings and one of your customers is really pleased you have resolved her complaint. How cool that is!

Your morning is busy as usual in which you support our customers in many ways. You are flexible in dealing with different time-zones. You don’t mind, because you like to work in an international setting.

Time for lunch with your colleagues. There are many occasions to have lunch, where to go to, today?

After lunch you have received many emails and you need to finalize the preparation for the Closing deal. Time to prioritize what to do first. Your colleagues take over some of your work and now you can fully concentrate on the deal. After a few hours it is done and time for a ping-pong battle with one of your colleagues! Tomorrow will be another day to do what you like doing and good at.

Your job

Your day? To provide the best advice and switch quickly.

As a Commercial and Credit Specialist you are in charge. You know the customers and their needs. You are responsible to actively support the Coverage Banker and Lenders and work intensively together. You initiate supporting activities to achieve the CIB goals. Besides this, you are the linking pin to Contracting, Legal, Client Acceptance, Credits NPL, Garanties and Transaction Banking Services.

Your main tasks are:

1:  support in creating or maintaining credit proposals to new or existing customers,

2: monitor progress and offer support in new or existing client documentation,

3: data quality and monitoring of our customer portfolio regarding actual legislation, guidelines and procedures

Working environment

Corporate & Institutional Banking offers an international dynamic environment. The CIB portfolio entails 18 sectors that are clustered. Customers are serviced globally and are organised in 3 regions: EMEA, Americas and APAC.

A completed product portfolio is offered through different departments within CIB: Coverage, Structured Finance, Global Markets,  Global Transportation and Logistics, Natural Resources, Trade & Commodity Finance and Clearing. All Mid Office-activities are centralised within CIB Processes & Control.

The Mid Office team is responsible to design, monitor, enforce and execute of all commercial and credit supporting activities globally for all customer sectors in all countries. It is the linking pin between front- and back office together with the Centre of Expertise for commercial and credit processes.

There are 3 Mid Office teams located in Amsterdam. You will join one of them. We have 3 levels of Credit Specialists. Differences in levels are depending on the amount of experience and expertise you bring along and in terms of responsibility, autonomy and ability to change.

Your profile

  • You have the ability to multi task and are able to maintain a helicopter view; even at busy times
  • You are passionate about our customers and have an eye for our customers’ needs
  • You see opportunities and have a well balanced risk appetite to our customers and the bank
  • You can easily interact and communicate with Coverage Bankers, Lenders and various other stakeholders to receive missing information regarding clients- or transaction processes
  • You are an enthusiastic team player, result driven and willing to run an extra mile in order to support our clients, Coverage Bankers and Lenders as much as possible
  • Knowledge of revisions, spreading, rating, financial constructions and risk management is an advantage, as well as our credit systems (like Rapid, C-track and OASIS)
