Your working environment

The Corporate Finance department consists of Sector teams and a Capital Structuring and Advisory (CSA) team, based at the HQ of ABN AMRO in Amsterdam. You will become a member of the TMT&L team, covering clients within Telecom, Media, Technology and/or Leisure. The TMT&L team extends its coverage across all, future, corporate clients of the Bank, consisting of strategic players as well as their shareholders.

Your job

You are an essential senior member of the Corporate Finance TMT & Leisure team, where you will be able to specialize or operate in a focused manner in one or more of the TMT sectors (Telecom, Media and Technology).

You monitor and analyse TMT market and sector trends, the performance of companies within the sector and use your strong network to identify and moreover originate TMT opportunities such as mergers, acquisitions and disposals, IPOs, restructurings, and capital raisings. As an Executive Director, you are also capable of managing the full execution process of a complex merger, acquisition or disposal, including valuation, co-ordination of due diligence, as well as assisting the client in deal negotiations. Whilst in deals, you manage the transactional Corporate Finance team and – where relevant – other product specialists, ensuring timelines and making sure the client’s objectives are met.

As a senior team member, you show active contribution to the team’s business development activities. You also demonstrate leadership potential by coaching junior team members and putting together relevant cross-disciplinary teams.

Your profile

You have in dept knowledge of and preferably experience in Telecom, Media or Technology sector, allowing you to identify relevant advisory opportunities. You are a self-starter and able to originate mandates independently as well as execute deals with clients. You have strong analytical skills, including financial analysis and modelling, combined with excellent process management skills. Being a passionate, hard-working professional, you have an eye for our clients' needs. You combine commercial drive with a joy in working together in teams. You believe that by sharing knowledge you will contribute to the team's growth. You are highly productive and deliver high quality standards. You work well under pressure, and you like to win.

  • At least 12 years of experience preferably within investment banking or corporate finance, professional services, corporate development and/or strategy
  • Knowledge of and  experience with the Telecom, Media and Technology sectors
  • Proven client-centric skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Team player and effective stakeholder manager
  • Can originate independently and is able to execute more complex transactions on your own
  • Proficient financial analysis, valuation and modelling skills
  • Knowledge of ABN AMRO's vision and strategy, service concepts, business processes, organisation, products and services
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
