Your job

The job tasks: 
  Business controlling: responsible for management accounting in general for 3 entities.
•    Coordinate the yearly budget cycle (and the quarterly forecast for the latest estimate) in alignment with Franx Strategic Plan, prepare the budget overviews and execute the challenge function towards the MT of Franx. 
•    Prepare a monthly management report of expenses, income and profit margins, based on the statement of profit or loss (SOPL) and the statement of financial position (SOFP or Balance Sheet). The monthly management report includes an analysis of actuals versus budget for direct expenses, indirect expenses (internal allocations from ABN AMRO), fees, commissions, profit margins. 
•    Manage the Finance reporting calendar. 
•    Strategic and business decision support on ad-hoc basis: for example business cases for growth initiatives, profitability analysis per client segment, review of the pricing strategy, cost savings etc. 
•    Response to all finance related ad-hoc questions. 
•    First point of contact for ABN AMRO finance departments 

   Risk responsibilities: responsible for execution of the Risk Appetite Framework     
•    The Risk Officer is responsible for providing advice and monitoring the execution of the Risk Appetite Framework by the Board of Directors 
•    Periodically executes risk analyses and reports the results to the Board of Directors. 
•    Embedding of the Risk Appetite Framework & Statement and checkpoints and limits within Franx. 
•    Responsible for setting frameworks, rules, providing advice and for testing and reporting on execution by the first line. Ensuring also that the first line takes risk ownership. The Risk Officer advises the business on controlling and mitigating (potential) risks regarding integrity, transactions, clients, processes, products and services and the various risk types. Responsible for the setup and timely execution of the instruments from the Risk Appetite Framework of Franx 

Working environment

Your profile

Required skills:

  • Education: Master in finance or CA/CM
  • Experience: more than 5 years’ experience in a similar role in banking and preferably in a commercial high pressure environment. Demonstrable experience as a business controller. Experience with financial / operational risk reports. 
  • Knowledge: general knowledge of finance and accounting processes, risk management and reporting, banking products and having an interest in specific FX products. 
  • Specific skills: highly analytical, able to build a working relationship with various stakeholders,  being able to understand in a very short time the whole business chain in all areas of the organization (front office, mid office, accounting & regulatory). 
  • Have structured problem-solving skills, fast learning ability and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Fluent Dutch is a must
  • Experience in Fintech and financial products is a plus.
  • Expert user MS Windows & Excel
