Financial Risk Business Developer

At a glance

As a Financial Risk Business Developer, you will make a major contribution by realising products that help to more effectively manage ABN AMRO’s financial risks based on short-cyclical, incremental developments in a multidisciplinary team. You have a proven track record in Credit Risk, Financial Restructuring & Recovery or in making financial risk calculations, and are acknowledged and/or recognised as such. Together with your fellow Business Developers and IT Developers, you will determine how you operate within your field of expertise, share specific knowledge and focus areas and set standards. You will form part of a multidisciplinary business and IT team (the value delivery block) or a multidisciplinary business team (the value proposition block) to reach the targets in your product cluster (grid). In doing so, you will work with an agile mindset.

Turn your goals into reality and develop yourself both professionally and personally. Tell us your story: we are keen to hear it!

Your job

As a Business Developer, your duties will cover process, consultancy, data and portfolio-related issues. Improving, innovating, analysing, training, trouble-shooting and realisation will be your core activities. Together with your agile team, you will assume end-to-end responsibility for resolving all issues in one of the Financial Risk sub-areas.

You will use your knowledge and skills to work with professionals in the business and the IT organisation to meet the specified goals. Cooperation based on an agile approach will be the key to success.

Your working environment

The Financial Risk grid is part of Risk Data & Analytics (RDA), and plays an active role for all the Risk departments. We operate with a team of approximately 75 who are all passionate about making the bank’s financial risk management a little better each day. Our ambition is to make available relevant (real-time) information for all financial risk issues and hence to show that ABN AMRO is capable of taking the best decisions.

Your profile

You are energetic, with a passion for combining thinking and doing. You have a handle on what’s going on in the organisation. The client perspective is what gives you your primary drive for working in a grid.

As well as having a strong drive to maintain your own expertise, you are keen to actively contribute to further developing and improving the area you work in. You are energised by transferring your own expertise to others and are interested in what you can learn from colleagues with other forms of expertise.
If you think this sounds like you, check to see if your profile matches the following. You:
have successfully completed a higher professional education (HBO) or university degree (WO) course and have at least 5 years of relevant work experience;

  • are keen to broaden and deepen your knowledge of data, modelling, process and consultancy;
  • have knowledge and experience of Credit Risk, Financial Restructuring & Recovery or IRB/IFRS9;
  • have a demonstrable affinity with IT;
  • embrace the agile way of working;
  • are teamwork-, innovation- and goal-orientated.

We will give preference to candidates living in the Netherlands.

What we offer

You will be given sufficient scope to help improve our financial risk processes. We are keen to learn from your experiences with financial risk and to apply your best practices. You will be given the opportunity to further deepen your expertise and/or broaden your role, or to transfer your experience through coaching and mentoring: from process modelling to process delivery and from consultancy to portfolio management. There will be numerous opportunities for you to develop, both within your area of expertise and beyond it, depending on your goals, interests and experience.

We also offer:

  • the scope to work flexibly;
  • a competitive salary based on a 36-hour working week;
  • a supplementary benefit budget of 11% with which you can buy flexible fringe benefits such as extra days off, a subsidy to cover the costs of a phone or an (electric) bicycle, and salary top-ups;
  • a personal development budget of € 1,000 per year with an option to save up to € 3,000;
  • an annual public transport season ticket;
  • a good pension scheme;

At ABN AMRO we use our knowledge, expertise and network for the benefit of our clients. So that they can reach their goals based on responsible decisions. Both in the Netherlands and beyond. Client-centricity always comes first with us. We want clients to understand our products, and if we think a product carries too great a risk for them, we may sometimes advise them against it. After all, client-centricity also means clear communication and devising smart solutions that really make the difference. That's our goal.
