At a glance

We are looking for an additional colleague in the Basel Centre with a specific role in following the (international) development of prudential regulation. Your role is to strengthen our external relations with a view of supporting the management of regulatory risk within ABN AMRO. If you have a good understanding of the Basel/CRD framework of banking supervision, excellent communications skills and if you are eager to follow the legislative process in the CRD/CRR context, then you could be our new colleague!

Your job

The Basel Centre is a team of experts that focusses on the interpretation of the Basel/CRD framework, with a view of supporting the management of regulatory risk in significant discussions. As a part of our role we intensely follow the development of the framework, including the political process in Brussels. We are representing ABN AMRO and present our views on the development of the framework in external meetings with industry organizations and decision makers (EC, EBA, ECB). In particular for this role, we are looking for an additional colleague.

You use your knowledge of the Basel/CRD framework to identify relevant arguments that support ABN AMRO’s position and present these arguments in discussions. At the same time your colleagues in the team as well as in related teams, may support you with more in depth expertise of the regulatory framework. You translate their views and the views of our internal stakeholders, into relevant external affairs strategies. Understanding the legislative and political process helps you to explain the relevant developments in the political process to your colleagues.

Working environment

Our team is part of the larger Enterprise Risk Management Network of the Central Risk Management Division and shares capacity and knowledge within that network. In particular we support our colleagues of the Risk Policies teams, who are implementing the CRD/CRR framework in the internal risk policies of ABN AMRO. The vacant position offers opportunities to develop your knowledge of the Basel/CRD framework in a broad context and develop your communicative skills. The way of working of the Enterprise Risk Management Network offers great opportunities to learn more about the wider set-up of risk management.

We will evaluate candidates based on their individual qualities as well as on the basis of their added value to the skills, knowledge and diversity of the team.
