BE - Business Consultant to the CCO

Your future context

As Business Consultant you will support the CCO in the day-to-day commercial organisation with a focus on commercial, regulatory, risk and administrative projects.  In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner, you will be responsible for substantive and tactical/strategic commercial support in the selected areas, in the performance of tasks and responsibilities. You will report directly to the CCO, while being a member of the Business Support team in order to ensure a direct view on the Business impact.

Your future role

Commercial decision and project implementation support

  • Project implementation and coordination of Strategic Commercial Projects
  • Actively develop, define and monitor the Commercial Risk, Audit and administrative high performance culture. Make sure that this is done on a structured and continuous basis together with the CCO and the commercial Management team – towards the whole commercial organization and in full interaction with 2nd and 3rd line key stakeholders.
  • Closely cooperate with the Client Due Diligence and Business Support departments and ensure a good understanding in the commercial organisation of CDD activities (e.g. timely follow-up of client review cycles, transaction monitoring, NCTO etc.)
  • Create a control framework for the commercial organisation that ensures a timely and qualitative implementation of Key KPIs
  • Closely cooperate with the data quality steward on improving data quality issues in the client life cycle
  • Actively implement the Digital Banking Strategy within and together with the commercial teams.


Business Management

  • Monitor and challenge the Commercial KRI’s on the Business, Risk, Audit & Compliance level in interaction with the Commercial Leadership Team.
  • Maintain and update stakeholder documentation such as the Quarterly KRI evaluations.
  • Prepare and follow up actions from the Commercial Management Team meetings: monitor the quality of submitted documents in close cooperation with the Commercial Management team and the Commercial Assistant. 
  • Initiate, set-up and execute special assignments.
  • Prepare Commercial Townhalls.


Our ideal colleague

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Business, Law or other relevant field or have at least 8 years work experience, financial knowledge and a broad knowledge of the (private) banking world.
  • You have good knowledge of English, Dutch and/or French.
  • You are able to master broad knowledge and a wide range of different topics: regulatory, product, systems, processes, procedures and have experience in regulatory / compliance processes.
  • You are stress resistant, analytical, targeted. You have the ability to anticipate rapidly on changing circumstances both inside and outside the bank, which often involve high time pressure in a complex, international environment, where you regularly act autonomously and take decisions within your mandate or escalate in a timely manner.
  • You have good communication skills both oral and written, being able to translate difficult messages to a wider audience.
  • You are as a Business Manager expected to be available under almost all circumstances and if necessary also outside regular working hours.
  • You are organisational, human, relational and discrete.
  • You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Powerpoint / Excel / Word) and Power BI.
  • You have excellent Stakeholder Management skills.
  • You have good presentation skills.
