Procurement Officer

This role reports to the UK Procurement Manager within the TOPS (Technology, Operations and Property Services) division of ABN AMRO Bank N.V., UK Branch (Including ABN AMRO Asset Based Finance N.V.UK Branch) and ABN AMRO Clearing Bank N.V., London Branch. 

The mission of the TOPS department is to manage the technological, operational and property services of the Company, in particular ABN AMRO Bank., UK Branch, in collaboration with the local business and support units. 

Your job

Working in the UK Procurement team, providing essential administrative, procurement, asset and stakeholder management within ABN AMRO Bank UK Group (AAB UK). This role will be a focused effort on the implementation and rollout of the local Procurement Policy and Process and will involve the following:

Change activities to include

  • Assist in the expansion of the UK Procurement Function to include ABF UK
  • Implementation, rollout and embedment of local Procurement Policy and Processes to additional business line
  • Assist in the development of approach to contract management and governance.

BAU activities to include

  • Contract management of suppliers and services.
  • Support business and functional areas in their purchasing activities.
  • Engage & work closely with existing suppliers.
  • As required, provide contract management advice and guidance to business and functional areas to ensure best value for money, quality, and contractual compliance.

ABN AMRO UK is part of the Corporate Banking business line and operates the following businesses in the UK:

•    Corporate and Institutional Banking which includes Corporate Banking, Clearing, Global Markets - Sales & Trading and Financial Institutions 
•    Commercial Banking which includes Asset Based Finance and International Desk, which provides transactional banking services


Our business lines are supported by a number of functions such as Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT, Finance (Including Tax), Business Management and Human Resources. We currently employ approx. 380 people in the UK.

Your profile

  • Educated to degree level and/or qualified by experience
  • Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
  • Intermediate level training in the Ariba contract management system.
  • Procurement / contract management experience.
  • Good understanding of corporate governance.
  • Experience of sourcing and managing indirect supplies and services. 
  • Working knowledge of contract management principles - KPIs, service levels, governance, etc.
  • Good IT skills as you will be using the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel
  • Reporting and analysis experience
  • Great attention to detail
