ABN AMRO Asset Based Finance N.V. (ABF) is cross border organised and has operating companies in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. ABF is a 100% subsidiary of ABN AMRO and is organised within Commercial Banking. We are an organisation providing asset based finance solutions, Leasing and Factoring primarily, to small, corporate and international business clients, distributing our products through omni channel, digitally (providing standard solutions and convenience) as well as through personal sales (providing a coverage model for complex solutions and expertise). ABF has the ambition to grow in Western Europe by investing in IT and in digital product development and to improve its internal processes. ABF has its own centralized IT infrastructure and application suite. ABF is investing in a future-proof IT landscape by migrating from country-specific and local solutions to ABF-wide solutions, moving to Azure and implementing a modern workplace based upon MS365.

 

ABF is currently looking for an experienced and skilled Data Advisor that drives the Data Management capabilities across our organisation.

Your job

As Data Advisor, you are an experienced and skilled sparring partner for the Head of the Data Office and for the various stakeholders within ABF. You have a forward-looking vision on data and are able to translate strategy into tactical and operational activities. You understand the importance of data and what is required to safeguard data and the management of it within ABF.


Based on concrete data challenges that arise, you know how to engage stakeholders (Data Owners and Data Users) and support them in their data challenges. You help implemnting data management capabilities that provide insight into existing data within ABF, including the data quality, location of golden sources, master and metadata, ownership and lineage. Besides, you help the orgnaisation to increase its general knowledge about data and underline the importance of data within ABF.

Working environment

ABF is a company in transition and, after the legal merger of former AALease and former AA Commercial Finance a little over 2 years ago, has successfully taken major steps into becoming 'ONE ABF'. We have harmonized processes over the countries, create x-border teams, moved from (local) legacy apps and infra into centralized IT. We are developing plans to move to Azure and are developing a workplace 2.0 based on Office365. We still have some way to go on topics like digital commercial propositions, IT and policies and risk frameworks.


You will work in the CIOO department where Data Management is organised within the Data Office, reporting directly to the Head of the Data Office.

Your profile

We are looking for a no-nonsense hands-on team player who wants to contribute in building a Data Driven ABF, who understands how to balance between doing things ourselves within ABF and leveraging on ABN AMRO and brings with him or her a healthy knowledge of Data management.


You have:
•    A completed master's degree (Preferably in a relevant direction such as Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, Business Economics or Econometrics)
•    Work experience in the field of data management
•    Affinity with applying data management for data analysis
•    Affinity with the financial sector
•    Strong analytical and communication skills, especially in working with different stakeholders.
•    Interest and want to take advantage of data management skills
 
You have knowledge of:
•    Data (quality issue) management processes and data governance (and / or are eager to learn and apply more about this within ABF)
•    Use and application of the data within ABF, for example for data quality issue management, in the business, or in reports, models, systems, etc.
•    Agile and project-based work
•    DMBOK
 
And further:
•    Good in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
•    Focus on collaboration, innovation and the achievement of goals
•    Take responsibility, you are self-organizing and take the initiative
•    You are a team player with a sense of humour
•    Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written), German and French is a pre.
•    Know how to inspire others and able to motivate based on your knowledge and experience
